Fitness Topeka KS | How to deal with muscle soreness

Hey, we’re Charles and Amber Colaw here with the fitness tip of the week. And um, quite a ways back. We talked about why are our muscles sore after a workout and so today. The question is can you give people some advice on what to do when those muscles are sore? And we had to recover from that.

Okay. Uh, for sore muscles, there’s lots of ways that you can, my preferred way that I would tell clients to help get rid of muscle soreness, not sharp pain or a major strain, but not, uh, like jamming a joint or hurting something. But just to get general soreness out. I would call it an active recovery day. And that’s actually where you go and you go through whatever range of motion that those muscles are still run. But you go to the gym and you go through and do like a reps of 20 to 30 with really lightweight.

And what that does is helps put blood back in the muscle, helps kind of give blood flow and loosen that area up. And you actually feel a lot better from doing what I call an active recovery day. So say if I did a, you know, chest exercises in my chest and my triceps were sore from doing a bunch of chest exercises, like really fairly sore, it’s actually good if I go back and I just take the weight of the machine and run through the range of motion for like sets of 30 and that helps all those muscles kind of loosen up, get blood flow back in.

And that is what I would call an active recovery workout and that type of thing for about three to four sets, 2030 reps, and you actually will feel looser, feel better. So that’s the fitness tip to help with sore muscles. This is Charles and Amber Colaw. We’ll see you guys have a blessed week. See you next week. Love it.
Bye bye.
